The PhD Day 2016 was held on 3rd. November 2016 in Room E. We kicked off with the lecture ‘An adventure with Others to the Pacific Ocean: Delft-Valparaiso 2015-2019’ given by Óscar Andrade Castro, who started his PhD research in 2015 at the chair of Methods & Analysis TU Delft. After his inspiring talk about his own experience on doing PhD research at TU Delft and how it relates with his former and future architecture practice, we entered a panel discussion with 3 PhD candidates revolving topics on education versus research. A thorough exploration was conducted on how we can make explicit their relation and how can a PhD enhance skills as an architect.
