Call for Board and Committees 2018-2019

Are you interested in doing something more than just studying, and do you want to make a difference in BK student life? Are you curious to meet more people, inspire each other, and work together with academics and practitioners in and outside the field of architecture?

ARGUS WANTS YOU! We are looking for a diverse new board and committee members for the academic year or 2018/2019. You can find the applications at the end of this page. If you are undecided, feel free to choose more than one position for now 🙂

About the Board

ARGUS Board is based on part-time (about one day per week) commitment of six students, who will all have their specific roles within the board, and each of whom takes care of one committee.

As a board member, you can continue your own studies alongside without any problems. The term lasts one academic year, with two starting points: September 2018 and February 2019. The roles are as follows:

Roles starting in September (fall semester):

1) Chairwoman/Chairman
The chair of ARGUS is responsible to keep an overview on all activities of the board, the wellbeing of its members and the progress of its activities and help whenever needed. Furthermore, (s)he is responsible for the (execution and implementation of) the policy plan and providing an agenda for each board meeting.

2) Education Commissioner – responsible for the Expo/Annual Committee
This education commissioner functions as mediator or contact body between professors, alumni, students and professionals. Responsibilities include contact with the Architecture department, OC meetings and PV meetings, as well as promoting educational activities and provide students with information about the Faculty and its programmes.

3) External Affairs – responsible for the Expressive committee
The commissioner of external affairs has the task to create a network around ARGUS, both through keeping the relationship with the existing parties within university and outside, and constantly pooling in possible new collaborators and making ARGUS known as a stdent-run platform.

Roles starting in February (spring semester):

1) Treasurer – responsible for the Excursion Committee
In ARGUS the treasurer is responsible for managing finances and budgeting. The person is in charge of the ARGUS bank account, cash payments and pin transactions with funding coming from the school, faculty, department and sponsors. The treasurer is responsible for communicating with these entities to ensure that ARGUS manages its financial resources responsibly.

2) Secretary – responsible for the Night of Philosophy committee
The secretary is responsible for internal administration within the association and communication with members. This includes taking minutes on the board meetings and keeping the membership records up to date. Communication with members includes the publication of monthly Newsletter and maintaining ARGUS media channels.

3) House Stylist – responsible for the Events Committee
The graphic position is responsible for deciding a general ARGUS style that will be used for the creation of promotional materials, both for social platforms and for printed posters. The main goal is to make ARGUS style varied but also recognisable from the students to become a visible recurrent presence both in the faculty and on social media.
